Bilbao

My Final choice of city is Bilbao. I learnt from a friend is that the capital of the Basque Country is Vitoria-Gasteiz. The dialect is again different here. Bilbao is a city situated north of Spain and is a port city. It’s famed for the Frank Gehry–designed Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which may I add is a very well designed building and well worth a visit. The main football team is Atletico Bilbao with there home stadium being the San Mamés, who play in La Liga too.

The weather in Bilbao is a bit different from the rest with it being so north of the country. Its summers are still warm don't get me wrong, however its more like high 20s rather than high 30s, there winter months are just like any in the united kingdom, a lot of rain but not as cold ( speaking from experience when I went in January of 2019)

Whilst I spent my time in Bilbao I managed to cram quite a bit in due to only being there for 3 days, some of the things I managed to see follows:

  • Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao
  • Bilbao Cathedral
  • Zubizuri
  • San Mamés Stadium - home of Bilbao
This brings me to the end of the cities in Spain of course there are plenty more which are listed in “about me”, I hope this helps with your future travelling experience.
