Barcelona

Barcelona, an amazing work of art produced by someone called Antoni Gaudí. There is great culture with lovely natural and man made beaches. Barcelona's main language is Catalan which is one of four types of dialect in the Spanish language. FC Barcelona, one of the best football teams in the world with one of the biggest stadiums called the Camp Nou which seats 99,354 people. Also RCD Espanyol de Barcelona (known as Espanyol) are a team situated in the north of Barcelona and compete in the same league called the La Liga.

Barcelona is home to the Spanish Formula one that happens once a year with Fernando Alonso being a firm fan favourite due to his Spanish nationality.

This brings me on to the weather, now the weather in Barcelona is beautiful in the summer hitting high 30s and even a chance of a heat wave. The breeze is lovely on days like this due to it being on the coast so you can enjoy and cool off in the Mediterranean sea. Barcelona just like Madrid is a very popular holiday destination both for different reasons.

There is plenty to do in Barcelona below are a list of tourist attractions:

  • La Sagrada Familia - A very popular and a firm favourite of mine (Gaudi designed church)
  • Park Güell - Gaudi sculptural buildings, lovely mosaic pieces
  • Casa Batlló - Gaudi designed apartments there are available to live in at a price.
  • La Rambla, Barcelona - The main hub of Barcelona with great shops and lovely attractions.
  • Mercado de La Boqueria - Vibrant Market for everyone to enjoy
  • Gothic Quarter - Medieval part of Spain with great buildings and designs
  • Camp Nou - home to FC Barcelona.
Again this list could be endless, however I wouldn't want to take the fun away you could have exploring this city.
